Learn the number in Japanese. It is not to hard to count in Japanese. In fact, instead of the moment where you know the first ten number, you are able to compose almost all the others, until 100.
Count until ten
1 – Ichi
2 – Ni
3 – San
4 – Shi/Yon
5 – Go
6 – Roku
7 – Shichi/Nana
8 – Hachi
9 – Ku
10 – Ju
Now we are going to count until 20 to understand the principal. We keep Ju everytime and we add after the number associate between one and ten. Nothing too complicated.
11 – Ju ichi
12 – Ju ni
13 – Ju san
14 – Ju shi
15 – Ju go
16 – Ju roku
17 – Ju shichi
18 – Ju hachi
19 – Ju ku
20 – Ni ju
Continue to count until 100, here we add before ju the number corresponding between one and ten. And after same principal we continue to add the right number between one and ten.
21 – Ni ju ichi
22 – Ni ju ni
30 – San ju
40 – Shi ju
50 – Go ju
60 – Roku ju
70 – Nana ju
80 – Hachi ju
90 – Ku ju
100 – Hyaku
